Vision
The vision of this project of the vlog is to bring highly talented artisans to the forefront of the industry and to inform people of their presence. Increasing their audience and in a way, provide support to these people who are keeping our culture alive is essential. Alongside a YouTube vlog series started with the aim of increasing their exposure, we also aim to financially alleviate them by teaching them to operate e-commerce businesses and also find sources of income for them to aid their economic growth in both the short and long run.
Preserving our culture whilst reducing the economic disparity in India is the reason I have started this project.
Our Impact
I started Artisans of India more than a year back with the goal of bringing the artisans of our country to the forefront of their industry. These masters of their craft, who were preserving the heritage and culture of India, were economically disadvantaged and were hidden from public view. I, having grown up in a family which takes pride in its culture, had to do something about this.
Through my organization over the past year or so, I have:
1. Travelled to 9 states in our country to bring these artisans into the limelight through the medium of YouTube episodes.
2. Published 7 episodes on YouTube covering artisans of different states and showing the uniqueness of their artform.
3. Financially educated artisans regarding how to run an e-commerce business and how to expand their business to improve their financial state.
4. Connected artisans with buyers and sellers of artisanal products and helped create more than 11,000 USD of wealth for these artisans helping alleviate their economic distress post the Covid-19 pandemic by which these artisans were left very deeply affected.
In the end, my interest in the culture of our country and my passion for advocating economic equality led to me taking part in this project. I will continue working towards this cause that is very dear to me.
